The Japanese Jacuzzi is a large tub with a diameter of 2.10m and a height of 1.20m, equipped with a special compressor that injects air into the water with a pressure of 3–5 atmospheres. “Jacuzzi” is the commonly used name in Bulgaria for water vessels with air and/or water jets. In fact, “Jacuzzi” comes from Candido Jacuzzi, the father of modern spa facilities, who in 1943 invented the waterproof pump for Jacuzzi equipment, and in 1955 the company of five Italian brothers living in Chino, California, USA, began manufacturing them. Since 1968, Jacuzzis have been incorporated into standalone immersion tubs. From that moment on, the Jacuzzi became a symbol of luxury living and one of the best ways to relax.
The Jacuzzi is an ideal place to relax muscles after intense activity and training. Immersing yourself in this pleasantly warm tub with strongly pressurized air helps treat arthritis and chronic pain, while also speeding up recovery of tired muscles. Why “Japanese”? Because Japanese studies concluded that underwater massage created only by air, without strong water jets, is much gentler on the body and does not overstrain the skin and bones. The thermal effect of underwater air massage expands capillaries, promotes relaxation, detoxification, improved circulation, and toning of the body and skin.
In our Japanese Jacuzzi, you can relax while enjoying the stunning mountain views, sipping your favorite drink, and sinking into blissful tranquility and recharge for your body, spirit, and senses.
Water temperature 39–42°C
The Pearl Cedar Bath is made of Canadian red cedar, a resin-free wood known for its variety of colors and natural healing properties that help with joint, cartilage, and limb issues. Red cedar naturally tints the water a light brown shade and gives off a pleasant aroma. A pump injects strong air streams into the water, and the properties of the cedar wood create bubbles that resemble small pearls. These bubbles deeply relax the body, helping you forget daily stress and problems, allowing your mind and psyche to rest and recover.
The tub has a diameter of 140 cm and is suitable for up to three people, making it perfect for couples looking for a private, soothing experience. The warmth of the water not only has healing effects, but also improves circulation, tones the skin, relaxes, and recharges the muscles.
A glass of prosecco or a fresh juice are the best companions to enjoy the majesty of the mountains and the pure air of Borovets.
Water temperature 39–42°C
As the name suggests, this is a huge tub with a diameter of 2.20m and a depth of 1.40m, containing nearly 5 tons of water. This simple yet highly relaxing facility originated in Siberia to ease the long icy winters. The water is heated by a wood stove immersed at one end of the tub, where the direct fire warms it naturally.
It is an unforgettable feeling to step out into the open relaxation area of SKY SPA, surrounded by snow in winter or bathed in golden summer sunsets, and immerse yourself in the warm water under the stars with the aroma of burning wood nearby. This experience relaxes the body, clears the mind, and creates a rare sense of calm.
Staying in the Siberian Tub loosens all muscles, senses, and cells, while also stimulating brain activity and improving sensitivity. Nowhere else can you enjoy such bliss in the peaceful pine forest of Borovets, far from the stress of everyday life.
The recommended stay in the Siberian Tub is up to 20 minutes, ideally followed by cooling down and combining with another heat therapy such as the infrared sauna, steam bath, or one of our dry saunas.
Water temperature 5–10°C
After thermotherapy, cooling the body is highly recommended, and what better place for this than our Ice Tub (shock cold plunge pool). Cold pools first appeared in Roman times. The Romans understood the health benefits of sudden temperature changes and enjoyed moving from hot baths directly into icy water.
The fastest way to relax muscles after intense activity is through cold-water therapy. It regenerates bones, tendons, and nerves, improving health and recovery. The low water temperature speeds up metabolism, strengthens the immune system, and tones the body, protecting against illness.
Using the Ice Tub immediately after a sauna or steam bath improves circulation, heart rhythm, breathing, and helps muscles recover quickly, while also enriching the body with oxygen, boosting mood and energy.
Enter the Ice Tub slowly after hot procedures, starting with your legs for 10–15 seconds, then submerging your entire body. Recommended duration is 1–3 minutes, depending on individual fitness. For people with excess weight, 30–45 seconds is advised.
Water temperature 10–13°C
The Ice Bucket is used once or twice during your SPA visit, ideally after a sauna or steam bath.
Dousing the body with ice-cold water after high-temperature treatments improves circulation and heart rhythm, activates all body cells and receptors, boosts tone, raises adrenaline, benefits the nervous system, improves sleep quality, and strengthens the body. Unlike a contrast shower, the Ice Bucket releases a larger amount of cold water instantly, creating a stronger overall cooling effect.
After this procedure, you feel relaxed, refreshed, revitalized, and ready for new activities and experiences.
Temperature 40–60°C
The Infrared Sauna is called the miracle of the 21st century. Medical studies have shown that infrared rays, especially medium and long waves, are beneficial. Only 20% of the radiation heats the air, while 80% penetrates 2–7mm into the body, making it suitable for people with heart issues, high blood pressure, acne, eczema, allergies, or cellulite.
Temperatures are lower than in traditional saunas, and the effect comes from infrared heaters that act directly on bare skin, making them safe even for people with cardiovascular conditions. Infrared saunas cleanse the skin by eliminating toxins through the pores and improving circulation, resulting in clearer, softer skin.
Our infrared cabin is made of high-quality thermospruce and white Finnish pine, with special Swedish ceramic heaters.
A 10–15 minute session equals a fitness workout of the same length. Up to 2 sessions per day are recommended.
Temperature 85–100°C / Humidity 10–30%
The sauna is one of the classic SPA therapies, known for its deeply relaxing, toning, and cleansing effects. It is perfect after skiing, intense activity, or in cold weather. It helps detoxify, supports weight loss, strengthens immunity, improves muscle flexibility, and eliminates toxins through sweat.
Dry heat is used, with air heated to high temperatures and moistened by pouring water over lava stones heated up to 150°C. The sauna has several bench levels – the higher the bench, the hotter the temperature.
If you are new to saunas, start with 6–9 minute sessions. For experienced users, we recommend 13–15 minutes followed by a cold shower or plunge into the ice pool next to the Finnish sauna, then repeating another 12–15 minutes in the sauna. Alternating hot and cold improves heart function, circulation, tones the skin, and energizes the body.
Every day, our Aroma Finnish Sauna is enriched with different herbs and extracts, making each visit unique and pleasant.
Temperature 80–90°C / Humidity 15–20%
Himalayan Salt Sauna therapies counterbalance the effects of modern stress and environmental strain while improving many body functions. Heated Himalayan salt releases negative ions into the air, which improve physical well-being and increase resistance to stress.
Combining dry heat with Himalayan salt purifies the air, enriches it with minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and iodine, and offers healing benefits for sore throats, lungs, and respiratory conditions. Just one hour or several short sessions of 12–15 minutes over two days can be equivalent to several days by the seaside.
Like other dry saunas, the Salt Sauna strengthens the body’s resistance to stress, cleanses the skin, and slows signs of aging.
Sessions should last up to 15 minutes, followed by a cool shower, ice plunge, or Ice Bucket before repeating.
Temperature 45–55°C / Humidity 90–100%
The Steam Bath, known since ancient times, is a gentler and less intense alternative to the Finnish sauna. It is an excellent way to relax after cold or physical exertion, detoxify the body, and enjoy anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, and hydrating effects. Steam baths also enhance cosmetic treatments by allowing skincare products to penetrate more effectively.
Main benefits include improved circulation, detoxification, fat and dead-cell removal, cleansing of the respiratory tract, all without putting too much strain on the heart. The soft heat and steam also relax muscles and support kidney function.
A 20-minute session, combined with the Ice Bucket or ice pool, creates a full cycle of relaxation. Steam baths are recommended 2–3 times per week.
